This job-site lifecycle feature illustrates some of the various stages a
given hardwood-flooring project can include. The client required
new court flooring. Everett was up to the task!
On a special cushioned underlay, 3/4" plywood is
secured over treated 2x4 sleepers.
Nearing completion of the subfloor.
The first few rows of court-top
2 1/4" x 3/4" hardwood maple can be seen on the right.
About halfway through the installation.
Each row matters!
Nearing completion.
With installation of the maple complete, a thorough
sanding is required to ensure a finely-tuned finish. (The sander
is visible on the right.)
The demands of a racquet court surface are different
than that found in a typical home. This project required three
coats of difficult-to-install moisture-cured urethane, best left to the
professionals!
The finished product, just waiting for the pounding of
court shoes.
